EUMSC Karting Report: From Winning to Losing

The English do not seem to be able to hold onto trophies!  From losing atrophy, only to be found by a dog named Pickles in 1966, to their inability toretain any type of form for more than two consecutive games.  Now, another Englishman has had hisreward snatched from before him.  Thesubjects in question are a Sir William Scott Douglas IVth and his gloriousthird place trophy earned at Racing Karts in Livingston.  While the competitors were out celebrating the success of EUMSC’s karting event and the triumph of certain individuals, this prize trophy was stolen.

EUMSC Go-Karting

On the 17th March the latest crash-fest that is EUMSC Karting is due to take place. It will be held in Livingston at RacingKarts at a reduced price of £35 per driver, for which each driver will get 5 heats, with the top 6 getting a final as well. It is the same place as we went for Freshers' Karting and for those who weren't there, it was great fun with friendly people and good karts. If you are in need of a lift there, a convoy of cars will probably leave from the Crags car park at 6:15pm for the 7:00pm start.

Freshers Karting Report

After a ‘misunderstanding’ with Raceland, the inaugural EUMSC event of the academic year moved to Livingstone for what promised to be an interesting evenings racing. We were given a taste of things to come when exiting the Crags, as Ben Cartledge-Leek dealt with some local youths in the only way he knew how, to floor it, getting the back end of his MX-5 sliding out, only to control it a millisecond later. NEDs now scared senseless and very nearly run over, our convoy made it’s way to the track, an unforgiving concrete mistress, which made incidents a likelihood and had a sin-bin in case we were really naughty.....
